Training
Charlie is being taught to jog (a slow trot mostly seen in western showing)
and Showmanship we have been working on it for a long time now (about 1 to 2 months before the show last September)it takes a long time to teach a thoroughbred to stand still and stand square along with backing up LOL.

A little about Charlie
He is a 15.2 hand thoroughbred (15 hands is 5 feet tall)
Charlie had broken his withers in the starting gate when he was 5 years old (The withers is where the back the neck and the shoulders meet)
He got 2nd place in a halter class last year I had forgotten to teach him that clapping is OK:0
Charlie is 11 now and being trained by us the DUH way(Down Under Horsemanship)

Sam's Horse Adventure
Welcome to my blog about my second horse Charlie! I'm a homeschooler in Georgia and I have lots of time to work with him. He is an ex-race horse (actually won first at Colonial Downs) but was injured and retired.
I won't bore you with too many details now, I just wanted to get things started. I'll have photos as soon as I figure some of this stuff out.
